Professor of Analytical Chemistry. PhD in Chemistry, 2004 (USC). After postdoctoral research stays at the Technical University of Berlin (2004–2005) and the University of A Coruña (2005–2007), he returned to USC in 2007 as a Ramón y Cajal researcher, establishing his position in 2013. His main research areas are the development of analytical methods for the determination of contaminants and their application to measure environmental and human exposure, as well as the assessment of substance abuse.
He has coordinated the ESAR-Net network (www.esarnet.es) since its founding in 2017, is a member of the coordination group of the SCORE network (www.score-cost.eu), and coordinates the work package on drug consumption indicators in the RIAPAd network (www.riapad.es).
