Salgueiro Lago, Ana Belén

Ana is a predoctoral researcher in the NEURODEVO research group. She graduated in Biology from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2023. Between 2023 and 2024, she completed the Master’s degree in Genomics and Genetics at USC, carrying out her Master’s Thesis under the supervision of Antón Barreiro Iglesias. During that same academic year, she was also awarded a Collaboration Grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

Since 2024, she has been a predoctoral student in the PhD Programme in Neuroscience and Clinical Psychology under the supervision of Antón Barreiro Iglesias and Laura Sánchez Piñón, supported by a predoctoral contract funded by the Xunta de Galicia. Her research focuses on the study of serine/threonine kinases and their role in axonal regeneration following spinal cord injury in two animal models of spontaneous regeneration: the lamprey and the zebrafish.
