Carlos Herrero Latorre has extensive experience in chemical analysis and chemometrics, with a special focus on food and environmental sciences. He was assistant lecturer (1988) and associate professor (1991).
He is currently Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at USC. He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications and has been principal investigator in more than 20 research projects and/or contracts. He founded the spin-off AmsLab (Applied Mass-Spectrometry Laboratory), which provides analytical services. He has held several university management posts: vice-dean (1994-95) and dean of the Faculty of Science (2000-02), vice-rector for Coordination of the Lugo Campus (2002-10) and member of the USC Social Council (2001-10).
