López Seoane, Diego
Address:
Born in Carral, he graduated in Social Education in 2023 and completed a Master’s degree in Research in Education, Cultural Diversity and Community Development in 2024, both from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. During his studies, he participated in university governance as a student representative, serving as Vice President for University Policy of the Student Council during the 2022–2023 academic year.
During the 2023–2024 academic year, he obtained a research initiation contract for master’s students, linked to the Sepa-Interea Research Group, which marked one of his first steps into the field of research. The first research line he explored was student participation in the university, motivated by the community development initiatives he promoted as a student representative. Within this area, he investigated the impact of student participation on personal, academic, and professional development.
In connection with this line, he completed his Bachelor’s Thesis, which was published, and his Master’s Thesis, as well as several presentations at specialized academic conferences. During his undergraduate studies, he completed his academic internship at the Pedagogical Museum of Galicia, where he gained first-hand experience of the educational work carried out in museum institutions. His role as a Social Education student in the museum involved designing activity proposals linked to the fields and contexts of Social Education, as well as analyzing the museum’s work from a socio-pedagogical perspective.
This experience provided him with an initial approach to this type of institution, where his interest in the often invisible socio-educational work carried out in such spaces emerged. For this reason, he is currently pursuing a PhD focused on sociocommunity experiences in museums in Galicia, aiming to analyze them and explore the potential of Social Education in these environments.
