Contratado(a) Postdoctoral - Programa Ciencias Marinas (PI: Luz Pérez-Parallé)
Address: IA
Diana Llamazares Oliveras is a predoctoral researcher in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Research Group (ACUIBIOMOL). She earned her degree in Marine Sciences in 2017 from the University of Vigo and, between 2019 and 2021, completed the Interuniversity Master’s in Aquaculture (UVIGO‑USC‑UDC), including a research stay at Stolt Sea Farm, which served as the basis for her Master’s thesis on industrial turbot farming in Galicia.
Since 2022, she has been conducting her doctoral research within the Galician Marine Sciences Plan (PCCMMG), part of the national ThinkInAzul program, under the supervision of Luz Pérez‑Parallé (USC) and Susana Nóvoa (CIMA). Her research focuses on aquaculture, aiming to establish a conditioning protocol for adult European clam broodstock using abiotic factors, including multiple research stays at the Marine Research Center of Ribadeo (CIMA‑Xunta de Galicia). Additionally, she studies the effects of climate change on the reproductive cycle of these populations in Baldaio, Galicia.
She currently works as a Mid-Level Research Technician on the CALIMAR project, “Coastal marine environment quality and its effect on shellfishing”, funded by the Xunta de Galicia, Consellería do Mar – Redemar (2024‑2026). The project evaluates the environmental impact of mussel farming areas in the Galician rías to support sustainable shellfish and aquaculture management. Her responsibilities include processing mollusk biological samples, extracting total RNA, assessing integrity and purity, performing spectrophotometric and fluorometric quantification, and preparing samples for transcriptomic analysis and sequencing.
She is a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Aquatic Environment Research for Global One Health (iARCUS).
